Australian Embassy Seoul JOB VACANCY Position Title: Locally Engaged Integrity Officer (LEIO) The Visa and Immigration Office of the Australian Embassy in Seoul is recruiting a specialist Locally Engaged Designated (LED) employee to undertake the role of Locally Engaged Integrity Officer (LEIO). The occupant of this position is responsible for developing /maintaining an information database, including identifying and developing sources, on issues relevant to the integrity of visa processing in Korea and Japan. The occupant will analyse that information and assist visa processing officers to target applications of most concern. The occupant will contribute to training staff on integrity issues The successful applicant will be employed under the terms of the Embassy’s Conditions of Employment at the BB3 level. The current salary for this level is KRW 47,002,572 per annum. Applicants must be a citizen of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom or United States of America who hold or who are able to obtain a Korean visa enabling them to work at the Australian Embassy in Seoul. The Embassy is unable to assist applicants obtain an appropriate Korean visa. Applicants must also currently hold or be able to obtain an Australian security clearance. Applicants must be Australian citizens or eligible to acquire a valid security clearance. Loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment. Duty Statement 1. Establish, enhance and maintain DIAC’s relationships with representatives of host government agencies, local airlines, airport staff and with relevant counterparts to promote Australian Government interests in countering visa fraud and malpractice, irregular people movement, trafficking and smuggling. 2. Develop and maintain systems to monitor unusual trends and developments in visa caseloads and provide regular reporting on integrity activity, performance and caseload trends. 3. Conduct regular caseload sampling, testing and quality audits to build profiles and other information products to enable staff to target cases of concern and develop and implement improvements in caseload management processes and procedures. 4. Identify and investigate integrity concerns involving ad hoc and organised migration fraud which may include liaison with other Posts and security agencies where relevant and appropriate. 5. Support operational staff by providing ongoing integrity support and advice and to ensure that the full range of integrity tools are being used effectively in accordance with agreed standards. 6. Provide integrity support to onshore processing centres by managing referrals and related tasking including the development of environmental information as appropriate. 7. Contribute to the identification of training needs and deliver integrity training to DIAC staff. This includes identifying existing training material, or in collaboration with colleagues developing new training material as required. 8. Other duties as required Selection Criteria Essential 1.
