Each student who does not achieve a Level 3 or above on the statewide, standardized English Language Arts assessment, or the Algebra I EOC assessment must be evaluated to determine the nature of the student’s difficulty, the areas of academic need, and strategies for providing academic supports to improve the student’s performance. b) In M-DCPS, a student who is not meeting the school district or state requirements for satisfactory performance in English Language Arts and mathematics must be covered by one of the following plans: 1. A federally required student plan such as an individual education plan (IEP); 2. A school wide system of progress monitoring for all students, except a student who scores level 4 or above on the English Language Arts and mathematics assessment may be exempted from participation by the principal. The attached Edgenuity Virtual Tutor (VT) Progress Monitoring and Academic Support Plan will assist schools in meeting the aforementioned requirements in the area of mathematics. In the absence of FSA results, schools should use the guidelines found in the Target Students and Registration column of the plan to assist in priortizing students to participate in the Virtual Tutor Progress Monitoring process.
