Nurse*
Patient **
You are an assistant to the great doctor Imhotep, doctor to
King Zoser, the Pharaoh of Egypt. He uses a combination of
practical herbal remedies and prayers to the gods because he
believes the gods will intervene and cure your patients.
All Egyptian doctors know human anatomy because the body is
cut up when it is mummified and the organs are stored in
canopic jars. They don’t know much about what the organs do
(physiology) because you aren’t allowed to cut them open and
look inside in case they don’t work in the afterlife.
Costume: something white and pleated if you can manage it.
Outrageous black eyeliner and an Egyptian wig
Props: pot of slime or gunk from a joke shop. Transfer it into
an old pottery jar.

Illness is natural, it comes from within the body and so you

treatments down and they are gathered together in The
Hippocratic Corpus which is used by doctors until the Middle
Ages.
