Position title: Infrastructure Support - Assistant Technical supervisor Position number: 16546 Position classification: Administrative level 5 Division: Strategic and Corporate Services Division Location of position: Desert Peoples Centre Tenure of position: Fixed term Immediate supervisor: Manager - ICT and Remote Infrastructure Positions supervised: Desktop or Instructure Support staff as required Special features of position: nil Role overview Under the guidance of the ICT and Remote Infrastructure Manager and the Infrastructure Support Technical Supervisor undertake duties involved with installation, maintenance, monitoring and reporting on all ICT Systems in Batchelor Institute locations. Provide support and cover to Infrastructure Support Technical Supervisor and the ICT Customer Service Coordinator. Assist ICT Customer Service Coordinator to complete all Helpdesk requests in respect to Desert Peoples Centre and all remote facilities linked to this campus. Manage Infrastructure and desktop Support as required. Key role profile outcomes 1. Act on behalf of ICT for all enquiries and jobs at DPC and Central NT Locations. 2. Maintain up to date documentation on all infrastructure and deployed software within Batchelor Institute. 3. Install and maintain infrastructure monitoring on all ICT Systems including services, LAN, WAN, wireless, domain, print, storage, VPN and security. 4. Under the guidance of the ICT and Remote Infrastructure Manager assist with the deployment, support and maintenance of all ICT systems and infrastructure. 5. Report monthly on ICT infrastructure status including uptime, outages, upgrades and capacity. 6. Log, escalate and recommend solutions to all ICT related issues to the ICT and Remote Infrastructure Manager. 7. Under the guidance of the ICT and Remote Infrastructure Manager act as a supervisor to action any allocated changes to the ICT Systems and Infrastructure. 8. Act as ICT Customer Service Coordinator when required. 9. Able to work outside normal working hours and travel to other local and remote destinations including remote indigenous communities as required. 10. Able to perform desktop and remote support tasks as allocated by the Customer Service manager. Page 1 of 2 Key selection criteria 1. Demonstrated capacity to work within the social, political and cultural environment of Indigenous Australian organisations. 2. Formal qualifications or equivalent industry experience in ICT Systems and Infrastructure including virtual machine management, multiple multi-user operation systems, user security management, firewalls, wide area networks ethernet switched networks, wireless networks, remote access and deployment of software and network configurations. 3. Formal qualifications or equivalent industry experience (3 - 5 years) in helpdesk supervision, helpdesk support, windows, apple and android device network connection configuration and fit for use assessment. 4. Formal qualifications or equivalent industry experience providing ICT Infrastructure status reporting. 5. An ability to perform with minimal supervision and to work to deadlines. 6. An understanding of and ability to explain technical matters in concise, simple language, both and in writing. Desirable selection criteria 1. Experience with VMWare, Windows server, Active Directory, Mac OS, manage Engine and monitoring software. 2. Experience in the Education industry. 3. Experience in providing services in remote communities.
