Dear Provincial Election Candidate:
Solid Waste Management Services (SWMS) is pleased to be able to offer you the
opportunity to recycle your election signs after this year’s election. Our goal is to divert as
much waste as possible from landfill and we have secured markets to recycle the three
main styles of election signs: corrugated plastic (also known as "Coroplast"), fibre based
(paperboard), and plastic film ("sleeve" style signs). We have also secured markets for the
recycling of wooden and metal stakes.
As you have been advised, all election signs must be removed by end-of-day June 15, 2014.
Bring your used or unused election signs to the following collection points until Friday, July
18, 2014. Please note the hours of operation specific to each site.
