Hours of Operation: After service on Sunday, Bible Study on Tuesday, and now expanded to after Greek Class on Wednesday as well as whenever we can staff after any weekday service or event. Current State of Affairs: The Bookstore is managed within it’s own operating costs and is able to contribute to our parish community in many ways. Annual gifting back to the parish community is an estimated $4000 as follows: Sponsoring the cost of the parish calendar ~ $500 Gifting visit clergy, guest speakers, catechumens, betrothed, and others – $1000 Sponsoring one outreach postcard mailing to the local community ~ $1100 Supporting the seminarian scholarship with an annual $1000 donation Sponsoring the Three Hierarchs Lecture each winter ~ $300 Supplying free Orthodox literature and pamphlets on the info racks in the elevator area ~ $200 Current inventory value is approximately $35K. Outlook: 1. Outreach through Origins Coffee House: Set up and staff bookshelves in a back room. Estimated cost for placed inventory and display is $2000 plus unknown costs associated with insurance, part time salary, potential rent, etc. or; Provide a “rolling bookstore” managed by Tim Burkhard or one of the Young Adult Leaders. Estimated costs $100. This is the more desired option as it gives us a “test” in the market will minimal investment. 2. Expand sales through Shopify on Facebook: We are currently looking to offer specific items through Facebook’s online selling system. Current Facebook followers are 158, if you are Facebook be sure to suggest our page to your friends! 3. The current store area is being reevaluated to better maximize space. Some costs are anticipated for a change in display racks or shelving. One possible change is traditional bookshelves where product can be viewed on both sides. 4. Continue training volunteers for expanded support. We welcome Sandy Sacoolas to the team! Respectfully submitted by Cynthia Sheffer 102215
