Associate Director
Job Summary
The Corner Health Center seeks an Associate Director with a working knowledge of nonprofit management,
ideally within a health care or social service setting. This individual will work very closely with the Executive
Director and the agency leadership team, and will oversee clinical, behavioral and mental health activities for
the organization. This is an exempt, full time position (40 hours/week, including some evening and weekend
hours) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Executive Director. This is an
ideal position for someone with several years of management experience, a desire for helping lead all aspects
of a strong, local community organization and has a passion for youth and health.
The Associate Director is responsible for having a strong comprehension of agency operations overall, with a
specific focus on clinic operations. In the absence of the Executive Director, the Associate Director acts on
his/her behalf and is empowered to make decisions as appropriate, reporting to the Board of Directors as
required to carry out the Executive Director role. Responsibilities include oversight of integrated primary care
and behavioral health programs; agency-wide program development, implementation and evaluation; grant
writing and reporting; strategic planning; building community partnerships with health and youth serving
organizations; co-developing fiscal year department-level operating budgets; and partnering with leadership
team to analyze and increase patient capacity and agency revenue.
Responsibilities Include:
Medical Team:
 Provide oversight to clinical services in partnership with Medical Director, to ensure policies and
procedures result in an efficient and effective clinic, including ensuring maintenance and adherence to all
policies and procedures that include but are not limited to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA and MDHHS regulations,
operational and clinic policies, laboratory and patient care. Acts as the HIPAA compliance officer.
 Provide direct supervision to Clinic Supervisor and Mental/Behavioral Health Supervisor, (who in turn
supervise all nurses, medical assistants, therapists, other medical/health program staff and clinic
office/reception staff).
 Track and provide resolution to patient complaints.
 In partnership with Medical Director, inform content of Clinic and Quality Assurance meetings
Administrative
 Program development, implementation and evaluation in line with agency priorities and funding needs
 Evaluate, monitor and report on agency performance to Board and funders as assigned.
 In partnership with the Executive Director, facilitate All Staff meetings
 Participate in Clinic Business Team meetings
 Participate in annual budget development and monitor budgetary compliance for areas of responsibility
including developing and implementing revenue enhancement and expense management strategies.
 Assist in the development and implementation of the agency annual strategic plan.
 Attend leadership team and Board meetings as needed.
 Attend appropriate community meetings as a Corner Health Center representative.
Qualifications:
 Master’s Degree in related field required.
 5+ years of increasing responsibility in non-profit management in a health care organization preferred.
 Understanding of the health care industry and social service industry.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse
variety of stakeholders and constituents.
 Strong external networking, relationship and customer service skills.
 Experience creating annual operating budget and proactively managing budget variances.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint required.
 Experience with database management required; experience with Electronic Health Records preferred.
 Detail-oriented and highly organized.
 Ability to keep sensitive and critical information absolutely confidential.
 Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
 Appreciation for the agency mission.
