Job Summary
The Corner Health Center seeks a Mental Health/Behavioral Health Coordinator with a working knowledge of
nonprofit management, ideally within a health care setting. This individual will work very closely with the
Associate Director and the agency clinical team, and will oversee all behavioral health activities for the
organization including mental health services, substance abuse services, and health promotion/coaching
programs. This is an exempt, full time position (40 hours per week, including some evening and weekend
hours) with competitive salary and benefits. This person will report directly to the Associate Director. This is an
ideal position for someone with several years of management experience in mental health services, a desire
for helping lead a strong team within a local community organization, and has a passion for youth and health.
The Mental Health/Behavioral Health Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the behavioral health team,
with a specific focus on mental health, substance abuse and health promotion activities, as they are integrated
into primary care. Responsibilities include oversight of behavioral health programs; agency-wide program
development, implementation and evaluation; grant writing and reporting; strategic planning; building
community partnerships with health and youth serving organizations; developing fiscal year operating budgets;
and partnering with leadership team to analyze and increase patient capacity and agency revenue.
Responsibilities Include:
 Ensure staff receive on-going supervision to enable them to fulfill the performance expectations of their job
in accordance with agency philosophy, mission, and standards. Document supervision activities.
 Design and implement individual and group training and orientation for new and existing staff to enable
them to fulfill their jobs according to agency philosophy, mission and standards, and to help them learn and
stay current with best practices
 Monitor and coordinate the service delivery of assigned staff to insure timely delivery of services in
accordance with all clinical standards and procedures.
 In partnership with Clinic Supervisor, ensure integration of primary care and behavioral health services
including triage of cases to therapists and psychiatrist.
 Assign, coordinate and provide clinical oversight to ongoing program operations including day to day
operations as well as providing immediate clinical support in high risk, or complex clinical decisions
 Support the application and implementation of evidence based, best practices and promising practices in
conjunction with departmental plans. Ensure all clinical services delivered adhere to established standards
of clinical practice for youth.
 Ensure services are culturally competent and response to diverse populations and needs.
 Facilitate clinical case reviews both individually and in teams to ensure that every client is receiving
adequate and responsive services.
 Provide a half time case load of direct services to clients utilizing a current body of knowledge of evidence
based practices, best practices and promising practices with youth specific focus including CBT and DBT
skills
Qualifications:
 Current Michigan LMSW required
 2+ years of supervisory experience within a behavioral/mental health setting required
 Prior work with adolescents and young adults required.
 Experience in a health care setting preferred.
 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a diverse
variety of clients.
 Strong networking, relationship and customer service skills.
 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint preferred.
 Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred.
 Detail-oriented and highly organized.
 Ability to keep sensitive and critical information absolutely confidential.
 Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
 Appreciation for the agency mission.
