President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards
Non-Profit Category (Volunteerism)
This award serves to recognise non-profit organisations which are exemplary in their Volunteer
Management Practices. Through this award, we hope to showcase inspiring practices in Volunteer
Management leading to a greater volunteer experience for volunteers within organisations.

Shortlisted nominees may be required to discuss their nomination with Secretariat and/or panel
judges.
iii. There may be no winners, depending on the judges’ evaluation. Secretariat will publicly announce
the identities of nominees only if they are award winners. Winners must keep Award results
confidential until Secretariat’s announcement. Awards, if made, may be withdrawn if there is nondisclosure or misrepresentation of material information, or for non-compliance of these conditions.
All decisions relating to the Awards are final.
iv. Winners are expected to help others build capacity by sharing their award-winning practices and
experiences at NVPC programmes/activities or those of our partners.
Eligibility and Criteria
Please proceed with completing this nomination form only if your Organisation fulfils the following criteria:
 History of operation to benefit or serve the community in Singapore for a minimum of three years
 Demonstrating active contribution at time of nomination
 A Singapore-registered Society, Company Limited by Guarantee or Trust, such as Charities or


Institutions of a Public Character (IPC)
Not involved in any litigation or regulatory infraction as at point of nomination
Possesses an established volunteer management framework which can be available for review
and observation by judging panel and staff of NVPC

B1: ORGANISATION CULTURE
What is your organisation's vision for volunteer involvement?
How does your organisation create a culture of volunteerism?
B2: MANAGEMENT SUPPORT
Can you share how much resources are allocated to the volunteer programmes (E.g. Manpower, budget,
etc)?
Can you share three areas on how volunteerism in your organisation has grown over the years because
of the direct support from the Board and senior management? State the areas of growth with regards to
volunteerism (E.g. Number of volunteers, improved processes), and the support from your management.
Describe the organisational development plan to ensure that staff attains competency in volunteer
management.
B3: VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT PRACTICES
Please indicate if your NPO has the following volunteer management elements in its Volunteer
Management framework. Please elaborate for each element that you checked:
 Volunteer work design (Job design is clear and concise and clearly displayed for the public to
see. Volunteer programmes are proactively designed and aligned with Organisation vision and
mission)
 Recruitment (Recruitment of volunteers using strategies relevant to the profile of volunteers
needed. Regular volunteer recruitment exercises are organised through the year to ensure a
sustained supply of volunteers)
 Interviewing & screening (A process of interviewing and screening volunteers is in place, where
applicable)
 Orientation & training (Volunteer orientation and training sessions are planned to ensure that
volunteers are equipped with the knowledge and skills to carry out their duties)

 Supervision (Staff members proactively supervise and guide the volunteers)
 Recognition (Volunteers are recognised to acknowledge their contributions)
 Volunteer Input (A process is in place for volunteers to feedback to the organisation. This
feedback is taken into consideration when reviewing volunteer programmes)
 Record-keeping & reporting (A data management system and reporting processes are in place to
track relevant information on current and new volunteers. This element should include the
necessary forms to support the process, i.e. volunteer application form, reporting form, etc.)
B4: IMPACT & SUSTAINABILITY
How does your organisation measure the effectiveness of your volunteer programmes in terms of their
impact on the beneficiaries or achieving the vision of the organisation?
Does your organisation have a process to select and develop potential Volunteer leaders or form
volunteer committees? Please elaborate.
What are your organisation’s plans for future community involvement and volunteer engagement (E.g.
Budget set aside, committees formed, projects being planned, etc.)?
