Ahhromatherapy
One of the new party scripts is "Pure Aroma therapy" It is a wonderful, easy way to introduce your
customers to the power of aroma therapy.
NYR Organic has a large collection of essential oils and blends. They are part of all products because
Neal’s Yard Remedies does not use synthetic fragrances.
Aroma therapy works because our sense of smell is one of our most primitive senses. When we
experience the aroma of an essential oil, it is detected by the part of the brain that is the heart of our
emotions and this is why they can affect us so powerfully. Think of smelling a smell that reminds you of
grandma’s house.
Essential oils are the natural fragrant essence exttracted from flowers, leaves, bark, roots and berries.
Aroma therapy uses powerful emotional and physical effects of essential oils to uplift, calm, relax or
energize.
NYR oils are wild-crafted and organically grown plant essences. Each essential oil is unique and is 100%
pure - Neal’s Yard Remedies does not chemically create essential oils!
Shopping for quality essential oils is like shopping for wine. A $5 bottle is a different experience then a
$200 bottle.
A single specie oil should have its botanical name and country of origin. NYR either grows it themselves
or works with growers they have had a long term relationship with to ensure quality.
There are 4 ways essential oils can be used:
Vaporization - They are fantastic natural air fresheners, giving fragrance to a room as well as setting a
mood. Just add a few drops to a vaporizer, burner or bowl of hot water.
Inhalation - Apply to a tissue or warm cloth and put over face, or add a few drops to a bowl of steaming
water, place a towel over your head and lean over bowl, inhaling the steam. Remember Eucalyptus oil for
cold and flu season and the Eucalyptus Salve.
Massage - Add 3-4 drops to a base massage oil such as Almond or Grapeseed oil. Lavendar is one of few
that can be applied directly to skin. Skin absorbs up to 60% of what you apply. Think of how a nicotine
patch works. Doesn’t this sound better.
Bath/Shower - Add 8-10 drops of essential oil to a base oil, then add to a full hot bath (not running water
as the aroma and benefits will evaporate). To enjoy in a shower, turn on the water, sprinkle a couple
drops of your chosen oil on the floor of the shower and the aroma of the oil will instantly fill the shower.
Breathe deeply as you step in.
Try this script at your next party. The table display can be props such as lavendar plants, leaves, orange,
etc. Have coffee grinds on hand. The coffee smell clears the nasal cavity like crackers clear the palate.
The party introduces one oil at a time asking the questions:
Do you like it?
How does it make you feel?
What oil do you think it is?
The oil can be put on a tissue or cotton ball to be distributed.
Identify the oil, tell which products contain it and what the benefits are.
Remember each bottle of essential oil comes with a wonderful leaflet full of info on the what, where and
how. What the oil is known for, key benefits, where it comes from and how to use them effectively.
Encourage your customers to read it when they receive their products.
