Annually, SMT make over 1100 magnets, and a third of all MRI systems in the world contain a magnet made there. This opportunity is for a 12-month placement in our Research and Development Department, where you will work on a variety of magnet technology and product development projects. What are my responsibilities? Working as part of a team to support and develop the design and manufacture of control electronics and software for superconducting magnets. Working independently on projects to improve current designs and processes. Carrying out design work, conducting experiments, analysing results and reporting on conclusions, both in written reports and verbally in meetings. Supporting production on the factory floor and the customer support team. What do I need to qualify for this job? You will be working towards a 2:1 (or above) in Electronic, Electrical, Control or Software Engineering and be looking to complete a year in industry as part of your degree. An interest in mixed signal microcontroller based electronics and software. What else do I need to know?
