Management
The New South Wales Origin Legends Ltd (NSWOL), on behalf of its over 230 former NSW Origin
player members, believe that the management and nurturing of elite Rugby League players requires
a new approach. We recognise the enormous responsibility that Player Managers have in providing
professional Holistic service that delivers best practice advice and establishes the foundations not
only for a successful Rugby League career but a successful life after Rugby League.
Parents and Rugby League officials have choice of a number of accredited Rugby League player
managers and are obviously keen to ensure that they have made the right choice for their son and
player. We therefore believe that we have established the best Player Management company
available because the Player, his family and the Clubs and people that helped him achieve elite
status are paramount. Origin Legend Management is committed to mentoring and obtaining the
best results for our clients. We have committed to return any profits made back into the great game
of Rugby League.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION TO THE FORMATION OF ORIGIN LEGEND MANAGEMENT
PTY LTD
Stemming from a reunion of former State of Origin players from the original 1980 Origin squad, and
established under the NSW FOGS, the NSWOL was renamed in August 2010 and a new committee
established in February 2011 under the Chairmanship of Origin Legend, NRL and Australian coach,
Chris Anderson.
It was decided at the March 2011 committee meeting that NSWOL have an obligation and
commitment to harness their considerable Rugby League knowledge to mentor, manage and
support current established and developing Rugby League players.
The intent is to provide a full service Management solution that is dedicated to the nurturing and
mentoring of Rugby League Players for their benefit and not for personal profit of the Management

Agent. This is underpinned by an intent and commitment to operate Origin Legends Management as
a Not for Profit Company. This will not detract from the intent to secure the most competitive
commercial outcomes for our clients. However, profits from service fees generated will be utilised to
flow back to NSWOL for the operation of its charitable and mentoring activities, these being:
1. Contributing to the growth and development of rugby league.
2. Support and donation to NSWOL Charities including, Indigenous charities that promote
education and career pathways through Job Marts and sports mentoring, Rugby League in
particular.
OLM will also recognise the role of NRL Clubs, Junior Districts and CRL Groups in identifying,
developing and contracting Rugby League Players and will consider the implementation of royalty
payment to the origination NRL Franchise as an integral part of our Business Model and fee
structure. This concept is long overdue and gives recognition and encourages the development
process.
It is apparent that the distinguishing points of difference in the OLM Business Model centre on total
focus on:
1. The development and management of the client in all aspects of their career.
2. The complete commitment to direct net profits, after operating and compliance costs,
through to the NSWOL Charitable activities.
3. The support of NRL Clubs, Junior Districts and Country Rugby League in the identification,
development and contractual signing of elite players

MARKET AND MARKETING STRATEGY
Upon successful application a comprehensive Marketing Plan will be developed after undertaking a
full analysis of the market in conjunction with stakeholders. In broad terms the following comments
are made:
a) There are a plethora of Rugby League Player Managers and Agents competing for a
relatively limited market of elite and developing Rugby League players. The competition for
player’s signatures as clients is intense. Many players have long-term relationships with
their Manager and the vast majority of players are signed to long term agreements.
b) Whilst we recognize the barriers to entry, it is the intention of OLM to commence modestly
and focus on establishing its credentials as a professional, qualified and competent Player
Management Group who is seen by its clients as their ‘Trusted Adviser’. This aspiration is
supported by the fact that the networks, mentors and Alliance Partners have credentials
which will compare favourably with any competitor. It is intended that growth will be
measured, and reputation established by demonstrating exceptional client service.

In conclusion, the inaugural NSW Origin Legends Ball will be held on Thursday 19 May, 2011 at the
Sydney Convention Centre. This will bring together the programmes and activities of the NSW Origin
Legends and launch what will be a major ongoing commitment in the game of Rugby League by the
people who helped make it great.
