Job Description Position Title: Perinatal Nurse Consultant Reports to: Executive Director Reporting to this position: None Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly Compensation: $40 per hour Job Summary Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the assigned program(s). Ensures that the contract deliverables are met and that relationships are wellmaintained with clients. Responsibilities 1. Manages the deliverables schedule and ensures that all contract requirements are met or exceeded. 2. Liaises between the client, CPN staff and other constituents on the progress of challenges of implementing the program(s). 3. Provides; clinical expertise, consultation, and technical assistance to professionals, paraprofessionals, and others on issues related to perinatal and neonatal health. 4. Represent the organization on site visits to hospitals, health clinics and health plans to discuss the CMQCC, CPQCC and CPeTS data and other materials and data generated by State of California, Maternal Child Health Division 5. Represent the organization on taskforces related to breastfeeding, perinatal care and other areas of interest to the organization 6. Critically reviews, edits, and make recommendations for educational material or other tools useful for perinatal quality improvement 7. Develops professional education opportunities for those who care for pregnant women and newborns by assessing community needs, conducts surveys and recruits speakers - assuring all required elements for the provision of continuing education units are met 8. Participates in the development of perinatal guidelines and education modules 9. Keeps current in perinatal healthcare issues and practices 9/5/2014 1 10. Assists the Executive Director and other staff on assignments as required Qualifications/Requirements 1. Current California Registered Nurse license required 2. Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters preferred 3. Minimum five years current perinatal clinical experience 4. Experience in project management and/or quality improvement desired 5. Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively present written and verbal information 6. Proficient in Microsoft Office 7.
