lymphocyte signaling. The project will be supervised by Dr Hebin Liu (XJTLU) and Dr
Daimark Bennett (University of Liverpool).
This is an exciting ongoing project for a self-motivated and ambitious graduate keen
to pursue a career in basic immunology research. It offers the opportunity to work in a
highly innovative, interdisciplinary environment as well as the development of a wide
range of techniques including the purification of leukocyte subsets, tissue culture,
proteomics, advanced fluorescence imaging, multi-colour flow cytometry, ELISA,
real-time RT-PCR, Western blotting, and microarray analysis.
Successful graduates will receive a PhD degree from the University of Liverpool upon
completion of the program.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, team-oriented graduate with a
background in immunology, cell/molecular biology, or related disciplines. Candidates
should hold a MSc degree (or expect to) in biological science or a related subject.
Good command of English is essential. Experience with microscopy, flow cytometry,
and molecular biology techniques is advantageous.
Degree:
The student will be awarded a PhD degree from the University of Liverpool upon
successful completion of the program and submission of a doctoral thesis.
Funding:
The PhD studentship is available for three years subject to satisfactory progression
and performance by the student. The award covers tuition fees for three years
