Special topics cover emerging issues or specialized skills related to international conflict management not represented in the main curriculum.
III. Justification
In order to fulfill the program’s vision, “to become the leading applied doctorate program preparing scholar-practitioners for the complex challenges of preventing, managing and transforming conflict,” it is imperative to continuously create innovative educational opportunities for the students to hone their skills and gain applied experiences. For this reason, the INCM program needs a curriculum content area that is able to offer selected contemporary topics in INCM of mutual interest to doctoral faculty and doctoral students. INCM 9650 provides students additional opportunity to learn specialized knowledge and/or practical skills with
“real-world” applicability from practitioner-experts in the field.
