POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Marketing and Communications Officer Reports to: Principal through the Director of College Advancement Date: June 2015 Genazzano FCJ College is a high performing Catholic day and boarding school organised around 4 stages of learning: Early Years (including a co-educational 3 and 4 year old kindergarten facility with girls only education commencing from the Preparatory year), Middle Years (Years 5-8), Later Years (Years 9-10) and VCE (Years 11-12). Our Year 9 students are located at an off-site campus, All Hallows, in Brenbeal St, Balwyn, a short tram ride from the Cotham Rd campus. Reflecting the ideals and values of FCJ education, Genazzano aims to promote the spiritual, moral and academic formation of its students so that they develop into women of faith and strength with capacity to provide leadership in the broader community. Academic formation of our students occurs within a rigorous intellectual framework. The College Advancement Office oversees alumnae, fundraising, marketing, promotion and reputation management to ensure that the College is best positioned to attract future enrolments and philanthropic funding. The Advancement Office engages with stakeholder communities including parents, past parents and the Genazzano Alumnae Association (formerly the Genazzano Old girls Association) to build lifelong, sustainable relationships for the College and to support the College financially. This position will be responsible for the production of all internal College publications and many externally produced publications, both electronic and print. The position is a key liaison point for staff and the many community groups with strategic links to the College. This position also supports the marketing and campaign work of the Advancement Office including advertising and promotional material. The role will work primarily with other members of the Advancement Office, as well as liaising with the broader Genazzano community. This role is integral to the work of the Advancement Office, which is headed by the Director of College Advancement and also incorporates the work of the Events and Advancement Officer and the Alumnae and Communications Manager. Responsibilities Communications (digital and print): Produce high quality publications and communication materials which are accurate, professional and produced within specified timelines in accordance with Genazzano Branding guidelines. These communications include printed and electronic College publications, invitations and digital. Review web content to ensure links/messages are regularly updated and content is relevant, upto-date and accurate Manage web and social media updates in conjunction with the Alumnae and Communications Manager and other content providers Manage responses in a timely manner to comments and feedback received via the College website and social media Work closely with media students and teachers to develop high quality, student lead videos for web, social media and newsletters Develop quarterly web, digital and social media reports to track statistics for visitors and set KPI’s for web analytics Produce, co-ordinate and organise the distribution of the fortnightly e-newsletter and other communications as required. Coordinate the design and manage the content of the Yearbook, ensuring that the Yearbook is produced to deadlines. Develop and maintain relationships with printers by seeking quotes and ensuring quality control of all printed materials. Maintain an accurate database and other digital records. Marketing support: Support the Director of College Advancement in delivering key marketing campaigns Support the Director of College Advancement in developing and delivering twelve month advertising plans Assist in research and background information for relevant groups and target audiences to inform the College marketing effort and campaign Provide assistance with special projects as required Advancement Office Support: Provide administrative support to the Advancement Office as required by the Director of Advancement Maintain telephone contact with existing and prospective families and vendors. Maintain the office in a professional manner through file management and general administrative duties as required Attendance at team meetings Other duties as required by the Director of College Advancement, or Principal. Skills and experience required: Strong written and digital communication skills Excellent technical experience in managing web sites and social media High level of accuracy and attention to detail Effective communication skills Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Office Software Experience in publishing software is essential with extensive experience with InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe products The ability to prioritise work and competing demands The ability to think and work autonomously and in a team environment Conditions of Employment A salary will be negotiated according to qualifications and experience Benefits of the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2013 will be applicable to the role The successful applicant will be expected to hold a current Working with Children Check and adhere to College Policies. Full time, 12 month contract This is a full time role. Working hours are to be 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and any additional out of hours work as required.
