There are many reasons. A view from space clearly shows Earth is more ocean than land. In fact, 71% of Earth’s surface is covered by oceans. There are four main branches of oceanography are considered to be geological oceanography, chemical oceanography, physical oceanography, and biological oceanography. But oceanography really is the application of all disciplines to the study, understanding, and enjoyment of the oceans. Some aspects of geological oceanography Some aspects of chemical oceanography Some aspects of physical oceanography Some aspects of biological oceanography There are many other areas of oceanography Marine engineering Oceans and Meteorology Marine Ecology Textbook—not required Carefully review the syllabus on line Course packs are required and available at the bookstore Please email me via CourseDen and not my regular UWG email; phone 679-839-4057
