In addition we have a list of supplies that each student needs to bring to begin the year. These costs are not paid by tuition, EdChoice Vouchers, or Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship. Therefore St. William follows all of the regulations pertaining to EdChoice Vouchers and Ohio Revised Code that apply to this participation. At this time, the EdChoice Scholarship Program pays up to $4250 toward the tuition for those students who would otherwise attend an eligible public school. For more information or to see if your child is eligible, please check with the school office or online at http://EdChoice.ohio.gov . Income Status determines what you must do about paying the difference between the EdChoice Scholarship amount and Total Due (Tuition minus Active Worshipper Grant as determined by Tables 1A to 1E): EdChoice Low Income Status: Families that qualify as Low Income Status, per EdChoice regulations, cannot be required to pay the difference between Total Due (Tuition minus Active Worshipper Grant per Tables 1A to 1E) amount and the EdChoice Scholarship amount if the Total Due (Tuition minus Active Worshipper Grant per Tables 1A to 1E) amount is higher than the EdChoice Scholarship amount. Low Income Status is obtained and verified through application to the EdChoice Office as part of the EdChoice Scholarship Program. It is the family’s responsibility to fulfill the ODE requirements for Low Income Status. It is imperative that families not only request, but become qualified as Low Income Status by providing required proof documents to the EdChoice Office. St. William School does not perform this process, we do receive the results of this qualification. Failure to do this means you will be required to fulfill the requirements of a NOT Low Income family. EdChoice NOT Low Income Status: Families that do not qualify for Low Income Status will be required to pay the difference between the Total Due (Tuition minus Grant per Tables 1A to 1E) if this amount is greater than the EdChoice Scholarship, and the maximum voucher amount of $4250 per student. EdChoice NOT Low Income Examples: 1 enrolled student family fulfilling requirements of Table 1C will pay $100 difference ($4350 minus $4250 voucher amount). 1 enrolled student family fulfilling requirements of Table 1E will pay $1350 difference ($5600 minus $4250 voucher amount). 2 enrolled student family fulfilling requirements of Table 1B will pay $0 difference and the EdChoice Voucher system is invoiced $6812 ($3406 per child, which is less than the available maximum of $4250 per child.) 2 enrolled student family fulfilling requirements of Table 1D will pay $1237 difference ($9737 minus 2 X $4250 = $8500 vouchers amount) Policy as of January 30, 2013.
