General RNA Policies for Affiliated Clubs Please find listed below policies on general matters that arise during the course of our netball season. Wet Days The general policy the Redlands Netball Association will adopt for wet days is: Age groups 8 – 10 If there has been considerable rain in the proceeding days or during the night games will be cancelled and notification will be placed on the website as soon as possible, but no later than 7.30am on the day of the fixture. Age Groups 11 onwards The association will be very reluctant to postpone or cancel games due to wet weather. The main reason for games being cancelled will be if there is a threat of lightening or severe storm activity at the commencement of the round. Player safety is always our primary concern; the association will ensure there are six operational squeegees available to allow all hard courts to be dried off prior and during games. It is the responsibility of the Duty Club to get the squeegees out of the shed and to place them near each court. The actual drying of the courts rests with the team playing on the court. An RNA Executive member will monitor the condition of the courts during the course of the day to ensure that appropriate drying off takes place. If a decision is made to cancel a round it will be posted on the website no later than 7.50am, please do not contact the RNA before this time. If your club has teams playing in the first game of the day the association strongly recommends that you advise athletes to attend the venue if they are concerned about arriving by the start time if games are to proceed, as play will not be delayed and games will be forfeited if teams have insufficient players to take the court. Dogs The best place for your dog is at home. The association requests that NO DOGS be brought to the venue on either training or game days. This policy will be strictly enforced. The association does not wish any parent to miss watching their child play because they have to take their dog home. Please pass this information on to all of your members. Smoking The RNA will be enforcing a STRICTLY NO SMOKING policy within 20 metres of athletes, courts or clubhouse. That makes the only acceptable place for patrons to smoke is the far side of the car park. It is the smoker’s responsibility to take their cigarette butts with them when finished. Photography and Videoing The RNA has given careful consideration to photographing and videoing our athletes. The policy is designed to protect our players and to ensure their safety and privacy. Therefore we have implemented the following policy in regards to photography and videoing: Should a spectator, player, coach or official wish to take photographs or video footage of a game that includes the opposing players, the coach or team manager MUST get prior approval from the coach or manager of the opposing team before taking any images. It is not acceptable to ask after the fact! If permission is declined no further discussion is to take place. The coach/manager must respect the wishes of the opposing team and decline from taking photographs or video footage. Failure to comply with this policy may lead to the matter being referred to the RNA Disciplinary Committee or the Police if the breach is considered to be of a serious nature. Locking Up If you are last person/team leaving it is your responsibility to ensure the following tasks are undertaken: Post pads are put away.
