Making sense of these old traditions: what is in there for us to learn today? The great menorah: the
light that burns with the Holy Spirit oil, what burns is not the light candlesticks but the oil within. Life
is controversy between good and evil, light and darkness: praying for miracles is inviting crisis.
1. Rosh Hashanah / Jewish New Year – to begin you need to change and to change is a Crisis: Crisis
produces opportunity.
Lesson 1: have a sense of beginning when crisis strike keep your eyes and ears open for God is
starting a new thing in you. Discomfort is brought to cause you to move and change.
2. Yom Kippur / Day of Atonement- be forgiven: Opportunity produce ministry // the testimony
must come from a forgiven heart then we don’t feed people with bitterness.
Lesson 2: When the storm is over you will have a testimony to share and that is your ministry. Help
others who are going through their storms and the underlying word is forgiveness all those who
cause crisis for they are carriers of your destiny, agents of your change. Love your enemies fits right
here. It is not about you but your destiny.
3. Sukkot / Tabernacles/Booths – Camp-meetings - reliving the wilderness experience-be reminded
Ministry produce favour // while in the wilderness YHWH will cover you, provide for you and protect
you.
Lesson 3: Remember where you are coming from and keep focused on your favour. Don’t suppress
acknowledge and deal with it as part of your experience. The ministry you have been given will cause
you to receive favour, door will open for you.
4. Pesach / Passover-be covered Favour produce promotion //some things will Passover you
because your are covered, and you too must Passover other things.
Lesson 4: Misfortune and angels of death don’t enter all houses, but when they see blood they
Passover. When God has favoured you He will promote you. You are covered to be promoted, your
destiny is cut.
5. Shavu'ot / Weeks/Pentecost- be filled Promotion produce increase // the holy spirit is the fuel
that drives the gospel with his coming the is movement from Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and ends of
the world.
Lesson 5: with your promoting will come your increase and you have ben capacitated to receive
more. The vessel is protected as the contents are increased.
6. Hanukkah / Feast of Lights- be shinning Increase produce responsibility // time to shine the Lord
has set you up on a high ground , to stay there you must be grounded.
Lesson 6: it’s your times to shine, a city build on a hill cannot be hidden, neither do you light a lamp
and put it under the table. Stand and shine, arise and shine.
7. Purim / Feast of Lots-to stand without fear Responsibility produces rewards // occupy your space
with confidence and love chases away fear.
Lesson 7: The position of power comes with challenges but do not fear, for He who has brought you
here will carry you though. Do not hide your light: let it shine and you are much more in the light
than those in the dark. So they must talk for they can see you, you can’t see them.
8. Simchat Torah / Rejoicing in the Torah Rewards produce attach // keep the book of the law next
to you heart to do and teach these things. Write your own copy of the Torah.
Lesson 8: keep the word of God fresh on your mind, as your guiding principle.
9. Tisha B’Av / 9th of Av: Destruction of Two Temples-preserve the sacred Attack creates crisis. //
preserve what is sacred and in your life and do not desecrate holiness with filth.
Lesson 9: keep purity and put value of righteousness, be on alert to cause fighting and look! You
have just created another crisis.
