Curriculum Vitae for Sarah Gatter C 2011 I am a Self Employed Creative Practitioner. I facilitate art and craft workshops for all ages and abilities including adults with mental health issues and children with challenging behaviours. I am responsible for the planning, marketing and delivery of these workshops as well as managing the budgets, monitoring progress and evaluation procedures. This includes the lead artist role for the Arts Response programme with Arts For Health Cornwall, project manager for a sculpture garden at a local drug & alcohol centre, group facilitator for a series of art workshops exploring eating disorders and food issues, and I own and manage ‘Mixed Media Arts & Ceramics’ and ‘Colour Monkeys’- a creative and educational art and craft organisation. I am currently working in collaboration with Newlyn School and Newlyn Art Gallery to deliver a 12 week project to Year 4 children-this is an art and environmental themed project, introducing children to growing and identifying natural products that can then be used for art and craft purposes- such as natural dyes, making paper, and weaving with natural textile materials. Alongside this the children are invited to keep up and contribute to the progress of ‘The Colour Garden’ through a regularly updated blog and visits to the gallery. My previous employment: Sessional Lecturer at Cornwall College. Tutor of accredited art & design courses at the Eden Project, in partnership with Cornwall College and Cornwall Partnership Trust. Outreach courses aimed to encourage learners with mental health & drug & alcohol issues to reconsider education alongside community involvement, leading to increasing confidence and self-esteem whilst helping them to identify occupations or interests that are most important to them. Duties: Responsible for the planning, preparation & delivery of a variety of accredited and non accredited art & design courses aimed at adults returning to education. Duties include monitoring and recording progress, keeping accurate electronic records, meeting and reviewing course details with other staff members, reporting to line management, multi agency working, recruitment of students, promotion of courses, listening and responding to learners needs. Regular user of Microsoft packages for keeping and updating records, for communication and research. I hold an Information Technology Level 2 equivalent. My previous employment: Learning Support Practitioner at Cornwall College. Supporting learners one to one to engage with practical & theoretical processes in art & design at Entry Levels & Levels 1 & 2. Learners may have learning difficulties, learning disabilities or mental & emotional health issues that can act as boundaries in a learning environment. Duties: Identifying SMART targets and assisting with learner’s Action Plans. Encouraging independent learning where possible but supporting where appropriate. Monitoring and recording individual progress and signposting for further support where necessary. My previous Employment: 2005-2008 Drym Valley Day Care Centre. As a Project Worker I facilitated art workshops that encouraged and supported service users (vulnerable adults) to explore a variety of creative processes including mixed media’s, crafts and ceramics. I arranged gallery visits and involved the centre in external exhibitions and innovative art projects. I also invited local artists to deliver a diverse range of talks, presentations and art making sessions.
