Dear “A11 In” Cambridge Parents & Guardians,

It is time to start planning for this year’s Cambridge exam series. The exam schedules and fees for the June 2016 exam series are included on the back of this letter. We are providing them to you several months in advance so you can plan for testing as necessary.

Students can take exams for classes in which they are currently enrolled or retake any previous exams. For exam retakes, Coursework can be carried forward one time within 13 months of its original submission. Coursework that was submitted longer than 13 months prior to the exam must be redone.

As you will see, some syllabi offer both Core and Extended versions of the exams. Together, teachers and students will determine which version students should take. Please note that the highest mark possible on Core exams is “C”. For any syllabus with more than 1 paper, all papers must be taken in order to receive a mark for that syllabus.

Any Cambridge student can take any Cambridge exam. KUSD will pay for all initial IGCSE exams including First Language

English, Biology, History, and Mathematics. We understand this is a financial investment in your student’s Cambridge education. Therefore, teachers will complete an Exam Rubric which will provide you with information to help you make a decision about testing before payment is due. If your student is not yet ready to test, s/he can defer testing to a later exam series. To be eligible for KUSD to pay for the second set of exams, students must have met the Grand Canyon

Diploma qualifications on all initial exams. KUSD will not pay for any AS or A level exams.

Intent to Test Forms will go home at the beginning of February for students to indicate which exams they plan to take in

Spring 2016. Payment for exams will be due at the beginning of February. If students do not test in the Spring (May), they will have another opportunity to test in the Fall (October).
