Digital Communications Manager
Position Summary
Responsible for the development, design, maintenance and governance of web content for internal clients
across our client’s Internal Operations. Leads the advancement of information sharing across the
International Operations. Acts as advisor to functions and countries on effective use of intranet and potential
other digital channels in the future for information and content sharing. Produces content and promotes
intranet content and functionality to help employees accomplish their goals. Manages and maintains
corporate intranet portions from a channel and governance perspective.
Working from within the global Communications team and collaboratively with the IT department, the digital
manager will be an important resource in moving our clients Operations’ digital communication initiatives
forward.

Education level:
 Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism
or similar required
 Master’s degree (or equivalent) preferred
 Excellent comprehension, verbal and written skills in English (native
or bilingual)
 Professional proficiency in a second language (preferably French
or Italian, alt. Spanish or German or Portuguese) preferred
 Approximately 8-10 years overall professional experience in
corporate or digital communications
 At least 3 years’ experience in managing or setting up a corporate
employee intranet or portal as a content or digital communications
manager.
 Experience in managing a global multi-lingual intranet a plus.
 Excellent knowledge of digital communication tools and tactics,
exhibits understanding of emerging communications technology
and helps others to use it properly
 Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2013
 Proven experience in initiating and managing digitally supported
employee communication programs globally
 Excellent communicator; able to translate objectives into
communication messages and tailor towards diverse audiences
 Excellent copywriting and editing skills, engaging writing style
 Solid media production and editing skills (audio, video,
photography)
 Strong business acumen, banking/financial services background a
plus
 Self-motivated, takes results-oriented way of working
 Agility and Judgment
 Excellent team worker across countries and cultures, able to work
in a virtual team
 Adobe Creative Suite knowledge a plus

Responsible for planning, managing and governing the global multilingual internet portal and potential additional digital communication
tools(internal/external) in the future mainly from a channel and content
strategy perspective. Acts in an advisory role for digital communication
projects and business tools. Supports internal campaigns.
Advisory Role (~25%):
 Act as intranet “evangelist”: Drives business partners
understanding of intranet and other digital channel usage and helps
them incorporate it into their communication plans
 Develops, establishes and follows a governance structure for the
intranet with key internal partners to define roles and
responsibilities
 Consults with business partners on improving information sharing
through timely, accurate and usable content

User Understanding (~10%):
 Explores what types of content employees need to access, create
and share in order to help them achieve their business objectives
 Organizes and refines architecture of intranet to feature most
frequently used tools and information
 Builds and evolves understanding on how employees consume
information and navigate intranets/digital channels to feed back to
strategy
 Implements employee surveys to improve usability and quality of
digital channels
Content creation and management (~25%):
 Checks and edits submitted content to promote one consistent
voice in messaging for intranet and corporate internet portions
 Supports the Communication team in creating new content (text,
audio, video)
 Develops messages and content around the intranet channel that
engage audiences and stimulate stakeholder action
 Works with business partners to ensure intranet and internet
content submissions are accurate, complete, and approved
 Performs periodic review of existing information for validity and
relevance, archives outdated information, keeping it for reference if
necessary/in line with guidelines, maintains archives
 Improves findability of content through information architecture and
search functionality upgrades
Employee information sharing (~10%)
 Explores and experiments with employee-to-employee information
sharing (internal social media) and collaboration solutions
 Enhances social nature of the intranet by making content sharable,
easy to find and personable
Tracking and Measurement (~10%)
 Measures usage of intranet content through quantitative metrics
 Tracks metrics directly linked to intranet strategy and updates
strategy to increase intranet usage across employees
 Regularly collects feedback on intranet efficiencies, enhancements,
suggestions, and limitations from employees
Continuous education and stakeholder management (~20%)
 Trains international content contributors and site owners in basic
writing skills, content creation and archiving, governance. Enables
them to provide value add content
 Liaises with local intranet owners to ensure content is up-to-date
and relevant
 Offers guidance to the business on the best use of (social) tools on
the intranet given desired outcome
