Involvement and Leadership (room 145 IMU). You will receive a phone call, e-mail or text message to let
you know if you have been invited for an interview. If you are invited for an interview, you may sign up

Position Descriptions
Greek Week Executive Director
 Minimum GPA 2.5 required
 Report directly to the IFC and PHC Vice Presidents for PR and Marketing
 Meet regularly in the Spring semester with the Greek Week Advisor
 Facilitate all Greek Week Council meetings, Tuesdays at 5:00pm
 Serve as a liaison to the Interfraternity, Multicultural Greek, National Pan-Hellenic and Panhellenic Councils
 Create the chapter handbooks of event rules and guidelines
 Maintain open communication among council members
 Facilitate Council retreat along with Greek Week Advisor
Greek Week Follies
 Minimum GPA 2.5 required
 Report directly to the Greek Week Executive Director
 Attend regular meetings of the Greek Week Council, Tuesdays at 5:00pm
 Attend all Greek Week events
 Plan and coordinate Follies activities, including, but not limited to:
o Screening skits
o Organizing volunteers
o Updating the script
o Recruiting and managing judges
o Work with Guest & Event Services to complete EIF for Follies
o Coordinating on-site logistics, room reservations, sound equipment, etc.
Greek Week Service and Philanthropy
 Minimum GPA 2.5 required

o Communicating with chapters regarding their roles/responsibilities

 Create agendas and record minutes at each Executive Council and Chapter Representative meetings
 Work with Guest and Event Services to reserve/confirm reservations of rooms for events

 Record and calculate point totals throughout the week
 Work with Greek Week Executive Director to order Greek Week Awards to be presented during Fraternity &
Sorority Life Awards program.
United Way 5K Race Executive Director
The United Way 5K Race is a philanthropy event sponsored by Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Race occurs the
Sunday of Homecoming Week each year.
 Minimum GPA 2.75 required
 Oversee the organization, advertising, and execution of the United Way 5K
 Report to the IFC and PHC VP’s for Philanthropy and Community Service
 Meet weekly with a committee to brainstorm ideas, delegate tasks, and check-in on progress
 Live in or visit the Iowa City area at least bi-weekly over the summer to check in with 5K Advisor
 Coordinate the overall logistics of the race including reservations and route specifications
 Qualities of a 5K Director:
o Works well on a team
o Manages time effectively
o Organized
o Dedicated
United Way 5K Race Director of Development
The United Way 5K Race is a philanthropy event sponsored by Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Race occurs the
Sunday of Homecoming Week each year.

 Report to the United Way 5K Race Executive Director
 Meet weekly with a committee to brainstorm ideas, delegate tasks, and check-in on progress
 Live in or visit the Iowa City area at least bi-weekly over the summer to check in with 5K Advisor
 Coordinate marketing, public relations and advertising efforts for the race
 Coordinate sponsorship efforts and manage donations for the race

United Way 5K Race Director of Volunteers
The United Way 5K Race is a philanthropy event sponsored by Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Race occurs the
Sunday of Homecoming Week each year.

 Report to the United Way 5K Race Executive Director
 Meet weekly with a committee to brainstorm ideas, delegate tasks, and check-in on progress
 Live in or visit the Iowa City area at least bi-weekly over the summer to check in with 5K Advisor
 Coordinate the volunteer efforts for the race including communication prior to the race, education of the
volunteers and assignments
 Qualities of a 5K Director:

Rho Gamma (PHC Only)
 Minimum GPA 2.75 required
 Report to the PHC Assistant VP of Recruitment, VP of Recruitment and Advisors
 Attend all Spring trainings (dates and times and times TBD)
 Assist with the execution of Panhellenic Fall Formal Recruitment
 Provide guidance for PNMs participating in the formal recruitment process
 Serve as a group leader for a small group of PNMs
 Act not only as a support system for the PNMs, but for the Recruitment Team as well
 Attend regular training sessions and meetings from the time of selection through the end of the formal
recruitment process
 Participate in all pre-recruitment events and actively works as promotion agents for Panhellenic Formal
Recruitment
 Is available for PNMs throughout the entire formal recruitment process
 Attend and is available for all (days and nights) of the formal recruitment events
 Assist in the recruitment of the next generation of recruitment counselors after formal recruitment has
completed
Panhellenic Judicial Board (PHC Only)
 Minimum 2.75 GPA required
 Report directly to the Judicial Board Chief Justice (elected officer of PHC)
 Qualified applicants will have at least two (2) semesters of chapter membership
 Be responsible for ALL matters pertaining to violations of the University of Iowa Panhellenic Council
Constitution, Bylaws, as well as National Panhellenic Conference Unanimous Agreements
 Educate the Panhellenic Council and member chapters about the Panhellenic Council Constitution and Bylaws,
as well as National Panhellenic Conference Unanimous Agreements and Membership Selection Policies
 Review and make additions/changes to the PHC Constitution and Bylaws annually
 Meet as a Judicial Board bi-weekly
 Hold Judicial Board hearings quickly and within a timely manner
 Work with the PHC VP for Risk Reduction & Management, VP for Community Service & Philanthropy and VP
for Leadership & Education in order to provide bi-semester updates to chapters as to their standings for inchapter educational programs, out of chapter educational programs, community service hours and nonalcoholic events

 Minimum 2.75 GPA required

 Responsible for promoting campus activities and programs directed at seniors to the fraternity and sorority
community senior class
 Research ideas for chapters to use to engage seniors in programs and events
 Plan a senior celebration event for all fraternity and sorority seniors
Alcohol Free Programming Committee (applications and interest for this committee are always welcome)
 Minimum 2.5 GPA required
 Report directly to IFC and PHC VP’s for Risk Reduction and Management
 Attend regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year
 Responsible for promoting campus activities and programs that are alcohol-free
 Research alcohol-free program ideas for chapters to use as their required alcohol free events
 Consult with chapters that need assistance planning alcohol-free events
 Plan and implement an agreed upon number of fraternity sorority wide alcohol-free activities each semester
Director of Sustainability (new position!)
 Minimum GPA 2.5 required
 Report directly to the council presidents
 Advocate and promote sustainability efforts through educationals and various events
 Meet with chapter representatives to discuss and suggest ways intended to reduce the carbon footprint of
member chapters
 Work with council officers to provide tips to decrease energy and waste to chapters through social media
 Plan and coordinate with Director of Sustainability Liaison on UISG to successfully complete the Greek Energy
Challenge in the spring semester
 Collect MidAmerican utility billing period information from participating member chapters to facilitate Greek
Energy Challenge in Spring
 Maintain collaborative relationship the Office of Sustainability
 Set realistic goals for environmental responsibility in the Fraternity/Sorority Community
 Create or collaborate with an existing program/event in the Fall Semester for the Fraternity/Sorority
