NTC ARC: review scope of resources, faculty, adjuncts, funding, differential tuition, clinical sites, library, and technology. Topic Minutes Discussion Approval of Feb 2015 minutes. Review of revised ARC Request Form Update on digital/streamed media Revisions completed with one table completed with BSN and AD. O: Attached to minutes. R: IIA & 5.1-5.4 Barb & Jeanine have completed the revision of the ARC request form. O: Place updated form to ARC shell. Mary will inform via Intra-committed discussion forum after Spring Break. Yes ARC 2014.15 Topic resources lists – NTC, BSU, SON Review of Professional Development Resource needs Survey – NTC & BSU 2 Discussion Barb reports that Ann Campbell, with BSU library, has NTC funds for library resources. Resource will be housed at NTC library, making accessibility inconvenient. However if BSU faculty makes request can be at BSU. Will need to at address with Dean, who is leaving at the end of June 2015.or Key findings BS: Financial barrier - not enough monetary support to be able to attend conferences for ongoing education and do presentations. These are required activities for professional development but not fully supported monetarily. Grants are listed on BSU Center for Professional Development web page. Journals are in high use with BSU library. Not all journals faculty interested in are available via library Outcome(O)/Rationale(R) R: IIA & 5.3 O: Mary to add CPD link to ARC shell. Develop CE process for having our own faculty presentation present at our faculty meetings. Responsible party: R: 11A & 5.1 Key findings AD/PN: Time barrier. AD/PN faculty are users of journals online and from campus library. Review of resource needs based on end-ofprogram student data 2014 – NTC & BSU Develop recommendations based on review The two surveys do not match as expected. Need number of students in each program to determine response rate for considering significance of responses. Number responding in AD /PN program (based on NTC facility): 37 74% agree to strongly agree that physical resources met learning needs. Panopto reported with many technical difficulties. O. Barb will get number of AD/PN students. BS had about 150 possible. Teri create lab survey in each course that uses lab for students to complete at the end of each semester. Need to improve response rate and have surveys that match in both AD/PN/ BS. Priority Topic for Sharing ARC 2014.15 3 Topic Discussion Number responding in BS program: 30 Appears that one satellite campus responded and comments of LSCC were good on lab resources. Whitney thinks another survey would be okay. The Committee shall: A. Guide and assist both students and faculty in the development and use of educational resource materials which will support the objectives of the curriculum. B. Periodically review library and educational materials and make recommendations for changes, priorities, and improvements. C. Review resources policies and procedures and make recommendations. D. Review space and make recommendations. E. Review practicum needs and resources and make recommendations. F. Review and revise the resources sections of the Departmental Resource Manual on an annual basis. ARC 2014.15 6 Goals for 2014.15 Academic year 1) Establish process for communication between/amongst SON committees, via D2L discussion forums in the ARC shell by December, 2014 SON meeting. a) Evaluate this communication process to determine its efficacy as an inter- committee communication tool by April, 2014. 2) Establish accurate listing of currently-used ‘streamed resources’, inclusive of renewal dates and contacts by April 2014 a. Initial list of currently-used ‘streamed resources’, inclusive of renewal dates and contacts completed by February, 2015. b. Review of streamed resources as indicated in the ARC Workplan will be updated annually. 3) Support the development of structured new faculty orientation. 4) Acquire resource and equipment for simulation Discussion relates that simulation task force is moving forward with plans for expanding simulation course work. ARC handles resources they put forward as needs. 5) Conduct and report the findings of the Academic Resource Survey annually
