May 14, 2015 meeting minutes were reviewed. One correction was added: Sharon Warsaw works at Reedsburg Hospital and not Mauston. Correction was made and minutes were approved. Motion to approve the minutes was made by Jamie Vranak, Chuck Schlichting seconded it. Group vote carried the motion. There were no opposing votes casted. State Symposium (Joy Erb-Moser and Brenda Fellenz discussed) – Monday evening(10/26) content discussed Recognition dinner for TNCC & ENPC instructors. Denise Shepler is planning recognition dinner. $10.00 cost to each participant to secure a closer accurate count of members who will be attending. Gift will be given to instructors—This will be verified as both Denise Shepler and Joan Boll were not present. Government Affairs: (Jamie Vranak and Jayne McGrath) Bill introduced to the Senate, as reported to the ENA Sta,t on the bipartisan behavioral health reform bill. Injury Prevention (Lisa Ebert): No recent updates from National. Lisa gave update on some of the educational outreach that she is participating in: Street drugs and awareness-prevention EMS/STAC: Brenda Fellenz gave update for Rory Groessel about specific EMS coalitions. When asked by Brenda, if the participating members in today’s call, would like more information on this topic the response was yet. Leadership Committee: Mary Jean Erschen—discussion ensued about having a leadershiptopic conference. Action Item: Mary Jean will explore future topics/plan and report back. General Assembly: Brenda did a query regarding what people would like for shirts: State delegates like the idea of having uniform shirts 2 Telephone Conference: August 12, 2015 Button down—Brenda has a vendor in mind that could do these shirts. Brenda asked if anyone opposed using Brenda’s local vendor—her son works there. No opposition was verbalized. Members were in favor of this. Discussion ensued about logo/design Brenda will work with vendor on design and printing. She may need assistance in transporting shirts. Topics for General Assembly: Clinical Topics—More detail will be forthcoming from National. Topics need to be prioritized on a national level (Delegates will vote on the topics) The chosen topics will be assigned among the state delegates. Each delegate will be responsible for researching/familiarizing about the topic. Other members can contribute who have knowledge and are subject matter experts. Plan will be that the WI state delegates will discuss their topics prior to attending General Assembly. Meetings were set: o 9/10—Telephone conference to check in –discuss clinical topics— scheduled for 1700 o 9/22—1700-Will telephone conference to discuss clinical topics Open Agenda Mary Jean Erschen wondering if ENA could take a stand on requiring all high school graduates to be certified in BLS. Early stages—Mary Jean has been approached to see if ENA had a position on this. Jamie Vranak will check with Ken Steinhardt, Government Affairs, at National regarding if State Council can take a supporting position/role with this.
