Group started looking through the data collection for the Academic Goal for DDMS staff. Started looking at quarterly review. First goal was academic-Literacy at a glance. Discussed strengths, concerns, and patterns. (in packet) Second goal academic-math at a glance. Discussed strengths, concerns and patterns. (in packet) Next steps in math: finding the students that need extra support. Climate is progressing-LEAP has met. Math tutoring is also proceeding. ALC is also running. Honoring the current documents, but we also need to look beyond it. Team members took some time to read over the “Walls from Data Walk” notes from our early release meeting 6th grade needs help!! Our Hispanic students are also having trouble. There was a pervious program called YY. This was a tutoring program that helped our Hispanic students. Schedule changes may need to take place to extend the core classes. Need more tutoring programs, and mentor programs. There are things coming in the future to keep moving forward AIG has started growing also! Agenda Item 4. Our next meeting 1 min Our next meeting is Tuesday, December 17 Flood Decisions and Actions Discussion on professional development. There are certain teachers that should go to professional development. There needs to be time for teachers to observe and watch others. We moved to “Reading Problems and Dropout” Observed the reading problems and dropout PowerPoint slides Did a checklist by John Hattie on what we thought are high, medium, and low effectiveness within the classroom. The number one high effectiveness is student expectations. What do we put in place to make the school move forward Each of us should research three of the high level expectations and bring ideas of what works and increase student achievement Comprehensive Needs Assessment: Overview by DPI School Achievement Instructional Practices /Strategies Staff and Student Demographics Perception Program We choose four topics and we will split up and research each of the topics and we are going to share what we learned and can implement in our school. 6.
