Future, we will lay out everything we are going to do. At our last meeting, we all did research on Hattie’s high yield classroom practices. We collaborated and each took a topic to obtain data. There is a google docs paper with every groups findings. Data: Walk-through Team members are going to review packets together and track/assess past data. Team members are going to look at packets alone, then collaborate with a partner, write down findings. 3. Data Analysis 30 min Teams of 3+ Packets of data Inquiry Process Recording Tools Comprehensive Needs Assessment: Overview by DPI School Achievement Instructional Practices /Strategies Staff and Student Demographics Perception Program Whole group discussion: EOG data-over a period of 3 years we went from 25% of students receiving a 1 or a 2, it has gone down to 21% With the student reassignment, we lost about 125 AIG students. Students that are classified as SPED went from 13 to 31. This was because there were 6 class periods, so there may be more students classified as separate setting instead of resource. Staff Demographics-Positives: 22 board certified. The state is at 6. Turnover may be related to turnover and other schools opening. BTs increased from 13% to 21%. Losing 4-10 year people, but keeping 10+ years. Student Survey-372 7th graders were surveyed here compared to other schools. Very consistent data. Only 14% of students say that they don’t feel safe. That is consistent with other schools in the county. 1/3 of kids feel that they cannot talk to an adult. ½ think that bullying is problem. Looked into definition of what bullying is. 50% of kids do see and find that as an issue. Survey questions seemed “cloudy” These are 7th graders who may not know much outside of Dillard. Teacher Working Condition Survey-Positive for the school, teachers do feel that they have enough time to collaborate. But teachers feel that they do not have enough time to meet every need of every student. Teachers feel they have enough office supplies, but not enough technology Teachers feel that the community knows what is going on, but they are not there to support teachers Teachers feel that admin supports teachers, but students are not following the rules Rodgers brought up the fact that yes we do have a lot of students that do not follow the rules, but admin is there to help. We do need more support, expectations to be set for the beginning of next year. Teacher leadership-fair evaluation but did not always feel recognized. Leadership team not doing something to address student conduct Professional development needs to be differentiated for what teachers need. Instructional practices..testing is still not assessing what students actually know 4. Our next meeting 5. Review Next Steps 1 min Leahy 10 min S. Jones Our Quarterly Review is due February 24th.
