Keynote Speaker Dr. Megan Keiser is the current President of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. In her role as president, she challenges neuroscience nurses to Enlighten, Engage and Empower, the theme of the upcoming 2015 national conference. Dr. Keiser is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Michigan-Flint as well as a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner at William Beaumont Health System. She has been practicing as a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner for over 20 years. She earned a BSN and an MS in Medical-Surgical Nursing both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She completed a Certificate as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from California State University, Long Beach in 1996 and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Wayne State University in 2012. Dr. Keiser has influenced the practice of neuroscience nursing as an active member of the American Association of Neuroscience nursing .She has volunteered on many committees and has held various leadership positions at the AANN and at the American Board of Neuroscience ABNN. She is a past president of the ABNN and current president of the AANN. Dr. Keiser conducts translational research to improve evidencebased practice for patients with neurological and neurosurgical disorders.
