The district provided 2 goals because we do not have any data this year
1st Goal: 100% of core subject area teachers will track standards and progress monitor through the CASTLE
Standards Tracker. TIF (teacher leaders) and administration will be trained and then train the staff.
2nd Goal: Teacher engagement will increase by .2% as measured by the Gallup Teacher Engagement Survey.
There will be a consistent flow of information from top-down through administrators, teacher leaders, and
technology/email. Mr. Simmons also sends a Weekly Wildcat email to staff to help open lines of communication.

Enrollment/Staffing
- Student population approximately 1800 students
- All teachers have been hired and none teach 8 out of 8 periods
- All core teachers have common planning
Cambridge/AP
- Enrollment continues to increase. Currently at 160-170 students in 9th grade
- Once a month all Cambridge/AP teachers meet to plan during a PLC (professional learning community)
- More AP courses have been added and teachers will be attending a training shortly
New High School in Bonita
- This summer portables will be located in the back for 9th graders in the 2016-2017 school year
- The portables will have their own self-contained school (gym, café, library, administration, etc.)
- This will help alleviate the South zone enrollment numbers
AVID
- 22 teachers attended AVID training this summer
- It is continuing to grow from 9 to 12 classes
- Next year we will have seniors in AVID who will start to go through the college process
Communication
- 1 central calendar for all events in addition to the school website
-
Students watch a daily newscast after the 1st block to keep them informed of school news and events
Good of the Order
Q: Why aren’t the sporting events posted in the marquee on Williams Rd?
A: That marquee is difficult to change, but will investigate further.
Q: Has something changed at parent pick up?
A: No, the process is still the same; we just have more students getting dropped off or picked up causing traffic to
back up. We also only have 417 parking spots available but hope to get a new parking lot built. Due to the high
traffic in the morning the tardy policy is a little more relaxed to allow students time to get to their first class.
Q: Will there be any other future improvements or changes to the school?
A: The AC in the main building will be upgraded. Painting occurred 3-4 years ago and the sidewalks/halls get
pressure washed every summer. We also hope to get a new concession stand on the visitor side of the stadium.
Q: Will Parent Link be up and running soon?
A: We hope so. We have a new grading program and it is not communicating with Parent Link, but the district is
working on fixing this problem.
Q: When is picture day? The LCSD app says September 29th.
A: Picture day is September 22 for 9-11th graders.
Future Meeting Dates: Nov. 17, January 12, March 9, May 11
Next Meeting: November 17th
Meeting adjourned at 6:50
