Course Unit Title of the Unit Springboard: Title of Unit Lab: Title of Unit Topic Time Frame of the Unit Springboard: must be in # of days for BYOC calendar purposes Lab: must be in # of days for BYOC calendar purposes Description of the Unit Springboard: use the description at the beginning of each Springboard unit “Unit Overview” Lab: 3-6 sentence summary of the topics covered throughout the unit (i.e. How individuals view the world and its’ events create unique perspectives. In this unit students will be exploring viewpoints and how they change or stay the same as a result of events. Students will be reading and responding to a variety of passages that present multiple perspectives in order to form their own perspective.) Enduring Understandings for the Unit Springboard: Use the AP/College Readiness box at the beginning of each unit to formulate these. Lab: What should students understand by the end of the unit, use unit focus standards to help develop these. Essential Questions for the Unit Springboard: Use the essential questions in Springboard at the beginning of each unit—in a few cases you might find that they need to be modified. Lab: What should students be able to answer by the end of the unit, use focus standards and enduring understandings to develop these. Ideally, enduring understandings and essential questions should mirror each other. Academic Vocabulary for the Unit Springboard: Use the academic voc. listed at the beginning of each Springboard unit. Lab: Create a list for the unit, be sure to use language from your focus standards to help create this list. Assessments for the Unit Springboard: Keep this general (Formative; Summative; Embedded) Lab: Keep this general (Formative; Summative; Performance) Materials and Resources for the Unit Springboard: List general items needed for the unit (i.e. Springboard text; Videos; Suggested Texts) Lab: Create a list for the unit (i.e. Books; Videos) ***Attach Unit Assessments Topics-This is where units are broken down Topic Title Springboard: Use the titles of the Learning Focuses, so you should have about two topics for each Springboard unit Lab: Create topics for the units this should be natural (i.e. perspective, research, central idea, structure, argument) Time Frame of Topic Springboard: must be in # of days for BYOC calendar purposes Lab: must be in # of days for BYOC calendar purposes Description of the Topic Springboard: Use the Learning Focus Description from Springboard Lab: 1-2 sentences describing the topic use the focus standards that feed into the topic to help with this Learning Targets for the Topic Springboard: Teacher Targets—this is going to look different than most other content areas because Springboard spirals, use your deconstructed units to determine what standards are addressed in what lessons. Lab: Teacher Targets from Focus Standards Activities—these are for each topic under the unit Activity Title Springboard: Use springboard titles (i.e. Activity 1.2; Activity 2.4) Lab: This could be the title of the reading passage being used; activity title; writing piece; project, etc. Activity Description Springboard: Currently we will only have to list: Student Friendly Learning Target(s) for the Lesson Timeframe in Days Page Numbers from the Springboard Text Any Extra Materials Needed for the Activity Attach any Necessary Documents for the Activity **Eventually you will need to add all of the steps for each activity in the description section so if you want to start this during the summer or as you teach the lessons next year that would be beneficial. Lab: List the following: Student Friendly Learning Target(s) for the Lesson Timeframe in Days Step-by-Step instructions for the lesson (think lesson plans from this year) Any Extra Materials Needed for the Activity Attach any Necessary Documents for the Activity Learning Target for the Activity (you should be able to just check mark these instead of typing them in, I am currently adding these to BYOC) Springboard: Teacher Target for the Activity Lab: Teacher Target for the Activity
