Springboard 14 Monday 30 June – Saturday 12 July 2014 Expression of Interest form Thank you for your interest in Springboard 2014. We are looking for approximately 15 of the region’s most talented and exciting young performers. We believe that Northern Stage can offer a unique opportunity to come and work, to meet people in a similar place and to learn new skills. We want to create a residency to work very intensively and create an exceptional show together. We will be working from a script but we will also be guided by you and your ideas. That is why we are auditioning. We want to put together a cast that will collaborate and celebrate each other’s work. We are going to ask a lot of you but in return we offer the opportunity to rehearse and perform at Northern Stage, with professional staff working with you all of the time. Springboard gives actors in training, those who have accepted a place on a degree course, or recent graduates, an intense industry insight into staging a play in a professional theatre. You will experience first-hand what's involved in preparing a show for a live audience in 10 days; from rehearsing, taking direction and finally bringing the story to life alongside getting expert advice from Marketing, Technical, Finance and Fundraising staff at Northern Stage. There is a charge of £100 for the two week residency. That amounts to less than £10 per day. We also have some bursaries available, which can cover 50% of the costs, for those who would not otherwise be able to afford the fee. Please note that this must be paid for before the start of the residency. Please remember that you must currently be in training, are likely to be in training, or a recent graduate of a performing arts discipline. You also need to live and work in the North East, and must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to becoming a theatre-maker. Don't sit around all summer. Stand up and take part!
