Dated 1 May 2013 CATHERINE KING Minister for Regional Services, Local Communities and Territories 1 Name of instrument This instrument is the National Capital Plan – Amendment 81 – Removal of Outdated and Unnecessary Policy Material. 2 Commencement This instrument commences on the date of its registration. 3 Amendment of National Capital Plan Schedule 1 amends the National Capital Plan. Schedule 1 Amendment Schedule 1 Amendment (section 3) Part One Principles, Policies and Standards, Designated Areas, Special Requirements a. Amend policy 1.2.3(d) to read as follows: The water quality and hydraulic operation of the lake should be maintained in a manner designed to protect Lake Burley Griffin and Foreshores’ visual and symbolic role. b. Delete the following annotation on Figure 17 ‘The Central National Area (Lake Burley Griffin & Foreshores)’: For details of proposed widening of Morshead Drive refer to Appendix R. c. Delete the final sentence of paragraph six of section 4.1. d. Amendment Policy 8.6.3(b) to read as follows: The streamflow and water quality of the rivers shall be protected from adverse external influences and maintained in a manner which ensures compatibility between land uses, water uses and environmental character of the rivers. e. Delete policy 12.3(e). Part Two Administration and Implementation f. Delete the following sections of Part Two Administration and Implementation: Gazetted Policies of the Former National Capital Development Commission Planning Appeals Review Programme g. Delete paragraph two under section titled ‘Development and Management of National Land’. h. Amend the Plan to recognise consequential changes of Amendment 81 to page numbers, section titles and contents page.
