ONE (1) NEW TANDEM AXLE TRUCK (CAB & CHASSIS)
STREET DEPARTMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that sealed bids, for the purchase of (1) new TANDEM AXLE TRUCK
(CAB & CHASSIS), for the City of Valley City Street Department, will be received by the City
Administrator of Valley City at the Public Works office until 4:00 pm, Thursday, May 14 2015, at
which time, or as soon thereafter as possible, all bids will be opened and read publicly.
Bids must be based upon the specifications on file in the office of the City Administrator.
Copies of the specifications may be examined or obtained upon request in the office of the City
Administrator.
If the BIDDER is bonded in accordance with Section 39-22-05 of North Dakota Century Code,
said BIDDER in NOT required to submit a bidder's bond or performance bond.
If the BIDDER is NOT bonded in accordance with Section 39-22-05 of North Dakota Century
Code, said BIDDER IS REQUIRED to submit a bidders bond, certified check, or cashier's check, in
the amount of 5% of the bid, payable to the City of Valley City, and must be included in a
SEPARATE ENVELOPE THAT IS ATTACHED UPON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SEALED BID ENVELOPE,
and if bidder is awarded the bid, said bidder must supply a performance bond within ten (10)
days of the award, in the amount of the total bid.
There shall be endorsed upon the outside of the sealed envelope containing the bid the
following words, BID FOR NEW TANDEM AXLE TRUCK (CAB & CHASSIS), Street Department and
the bidder's name and business address.
The City Commission of the City of Valley City, North Dakota, reserves the right to reject any
and all bids, to waive any irregularities, and to hold all bids until the next regularly scheduled
Commission meeting.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
The unit shall be a new current manufacturer's design and shall include all standard equipment
unless otherwise specified.
The intent of the chassis is to be used under a hydraulically operated gravel body and hoist.
The truck cab and chassis shall be delivered to the gravel body supplier.
Dealer shall submit all warranty information with the truck bid.
One (1) complete service manual, one (1) complete parts manual and one (1) complete
operator's manual shall be supplied with unit.
The bidder shall complete the specification checklist and submit it with the bid proposal, for
each unit bid. The total bid price shall not include any federal excise tax or North Dakota sales
tax and exemption certificates shall be furnished with the bid documents.
The trade-in unit, as is, is a 1998 Ford LT8000 tandem axle, with a 15' dump body. Pickup of
this unit will be after the City takes delivery of the new cab & chassis and the dump body has
been mounted and delivered to the City.
The trade-in unit may be viewed by appointment with, Jeff Differding at 701-840-1516.
All bids will be considered in relation to value and price. Low bid will not automatically be
considered as best. Any bid may be rejected as being irregular or non-responsive due to
altercation of form, if conditional or incomplete, or if the bid contains language reserving the
bidders' "right" to accept or reject a contract awarded to him.
The City will not pay for the unit until the complete unit is delivered to the Valley City Street
Department from the body builder.
