System Restore
For all users of Microsoft’s Windows Me, Windows XP, and Windows Vista you
can now roll back system files, registry keys, and installed programs to its original state
in case of a malfunctioning or failure. This feature can restore points covering the past
several weeks. Systems restore backs up system files of certain extensions and save them
for later recovery and use. It also backs up the registry and most drives.
Firewalls
Firewalls are integrated collection of security measures designed to prevent
unauthorized electronic access to a networked computer system. Fire walls serve as
protection for computer uses against attackers by shielding your computer for
unnecessary internet traffic. Firewalls can be personalized to block data from specific
locations while allowing the relevant and necessary data through. Firewalls are very
important for pc users that rely on “Always on” connections such as cable or DSL
modems.
Keeping Data Private
Information privacy or data privacy is the relationship between collection and
dissemination of data, technology, the public expectation of privacy, and the legal and
political issues surrounding them. Privacy concerns exist wherever personally identifiable
information is collected and stored. Improper or nonexistent disclosure control can be the
root cause for privacy issues. Data privacy issues can arise in response to information
from a wide range of sources.
Data Shredding
WinShredder permanently and easily deletes all file types never to be restored
again. No will have access to whatever is on your hard drive, you can completely
eliminate evidence and protect your privacy. These programs are capable of rewriting
your selected files multiple times with a random series of binary data, thus obliterating
them beyond recognition.
Antispyware
It helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security
threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software.
