KRB's programs focus on litter prevention and cleanup, beautification, and environmental stewardship. Earth B.E.A.T. (Basic Environmental Awareness Training) is a K-8 program that engages students in an inspiring day of interactive activities. These “Eco-Station” activities explore local ecology and farming, waste reduction and energy conservation. Students make meaningful connections to curriculum and learn simple steps they can take to care for the health of the environment and themselves. Keep Rockland Beautiful trains teachers and parents as Eco-Station facilitators, supplies Eco-Station materials, and assists schools with event coordination. Job Title: Earth B.E.A.T. Program Coordinator Position Description: The Earth B.E.A.T. Program Coordinator assists in the development and delivery of the Earth B.E.A.T. program. He/she conducts outreach for the program and works with school representatives to plan and organize events. He/she assists in the development of student-centered, interactive Eco-Station and related servicelearning activities. Reports to: Executive Director Schedule: This is a September – June, 10 – 15 hours per week position, depending on the season and its activities. Spring is currently the busiest season for Earth B.E.A.T. events. Major Areas of Responsibility: Outreach and promotion of program to elementary and middle schools Work with school representatives to schedule event, select activities and coordinate the day (s) Train parents, teachers, and consultants as Eco-Station facilitators Develop creative, engaging Eco-Station activities Primary Objectives: Engage students, teachers, and parents in elementary and middle schools throughout all of Rockland in Earth B.E.A.T.
