HCUK College Group Higher Education Bursaries 2015/2016
Hull College Group offers a range of employability scholarships to support students
studying Foundation Degree, BA (Honours), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Higher
National Certificate (HNC) courses.
Wilberforce Employability Scholarships, sponsored by local employers
Hull College Group welcomes applications for Wilberforce Scholarships, which are
available to support students studying for Higher Education qualification. The selection
process includes an application form and personal statement, focusing on citizenship,
enterprise and employability.
Please note: Some of the scholarships include a small financial benefit (up to £250), which
may be paid in instalments. Students in receipt of scholarships will be required to provide
information on how the scholarship has benefitted their studies and future career
aspirations.

Additional Criteria – In selecting students to receive the awards, we will look at three specific criteria. For each of the
criteria, applicants will be scored, the criteria weighted, and the students with the highest overall weighted score will
be given the award (more information at the end of the application form)

Assessment
The applications will be assessed using set criteria. The applications will be scored, the criteria
weighted, and the students with the highest overall weighted score will be given the award.

Notifications
Students will be notified in writing of the decision within 3 weeks of the deadline.

5 points Very High- very strong evidence with numerous examples of skills, experience etc.
4 points High- Good evidence with several examples of skills, experience etc.
3 points Moderate – Acceptable evidence with a few examples of skills, experience etc.
2 points Low – weak evidence with no examples of skills, experience etc.
1 point
Very Low – no evidence or examples of skills, experience etc.
Please note: Students may apply for any of the bursaries/scholarships that are available, but will only be
entitled to receive one award each academic year. Funds are limited therefore eligibility does not
guarantee success. It is your responsibility to provide accurate information by 30th September 2015. Any
incomplete applications will automatically be refused.
