We now have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Director of Queensland Research Centre for
Peripheral Vascular disease within the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine at James Cook

at the Townsville campus in picturesque tropical North Queensland.
Our Division
Through its research, teaching and engagement activities, the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine
at James Cook University is at the forefront of improving health in rural, remote, Indigenous and tropical
communities within Australia and world-wide.
As one of the three colleges of the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine, The College of Medicine
and Dentistry focuses on the creation of high-quality, highly-employable graduates through our multi
discipline programs and are also crucial contributors to the health needs of Northern Australians.
Your role
Reporting to the Director, you will play a leading role in the strategic management of the Queensland
Research Centre for Peripheral Vascular Disease, and will work closely with the Director to achieve
operational goals.
The Queensland Research Centre for Peripheral Vascular Disease (QRC-PVD) is the lead group of the
NHMRC funded National Centre for Clinical Research Excellence in Peripheral Artery disease. For further

As an accomplished professional in your field, you will have the research and management expertise to
oversee the management of the research programs, drive the research agenda of the QRC-PVD and
lead, motivate and direct team leaders to successfully achieve operational goals.
An excellent communicator, you will also be instrumental in maintaining effective relationships with
key internal and external stakeholders and actively seek to promote the work of the team in suitable
forums.
