Grammar Focus (A5) Part A: Language Example: I have a lot of things I want to accomplish in my life and I am not afraid to work hard to succeed. I like to think about all areas of my life and what I want to accomplish in each one. These areas include my work, education, family, and personal goals. I want to be a dental hygienist. That is someone who assists dentists with their patients. I would clean and examine teeth. I would make about $18 an hour which is much better than the $9 an hour I make now as a cashier. To become a dental hygienist, I need a GED. I plan to get my GED in two years. I will need to study at least one hour each night if I want to meet my timeline. After I have my GED, I will enroll in the dental hygienist program. That will take one year. I have family goals as well. I have two children now, and I would really like to have one more. I want to wait until I have my hygienist job, so that will be at least three years. I also want to buy a house for my family. When I get a better paying job, my husband and I will be able to afford a house. Finally, I have a personal goal also. I love to sing and I want to sing more often. I would like to join my church choir. I really think that would make me happy. I believe the key to accomplishing goals is having the motivation to keep going even when things get difficult. I am a very motivated person and know I can meet my goals.
