AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY, LIMA POSITION VACANT Office Manager & Accountant (PN 11204) The Australian Embassy in Lima requires a fully bilingual (spoken and written English and Spanish) Office Manager & Accountant for a full-time position. The position requires experience in financial management and accounts administration, office administration and demonstrated interpersonal and team leadership skills. This is a locally engaged position which means that applicants must demonstrate they are able to work legally in Peru. The successful applicant typically would be a resident of Peru. The Embassy cannot assist with visas or work permits. This position is qualified as a trusted senior personnel position and the successful applicant will receive a twelve month probation period. Page 1 of 5 Duty Statement Finance Manage the Embassy’s accounting operations including: Supervise the Accounts Team; Certify accounts and process payment documents; Supervise the collection and banking of revenue and treasury operations; Prepare reports and monitor budgets; Manage debts and advances; Supervise preparation of the embassy’s IGV Return; Apply the Finance Management Manual, audit requirements and other directives; and Manage accounting records. Human Resources Manage human resource functions related to the Embassy’s staff and the Ambassador’s domestic staff including: Manage the Accounts & Human Resources Assistant; Manage staff induction and separation documents and briefings; Provide HR protocol services to staff and attached government agencies; Maintain a training calendar and arrange training courses; Manage the administration of salaries and conditions of service for embassy and domestic staff; Prepare recruitment documentation and assist with interviews; Maintain personnel records; and Comply with applicable Australian and Peruvian labour laws and taxation requirements. Property Manage the embassy’s property portfolio and related administration: Manage the Accounts & Property Assistant; Assist with preparation of lease contracts and other documentation; Supervise the Accounts & Property Assistant to process customs clearances; Provide property protocol services to staff and attached government agencies; Maintain records of the leased and owned estate; Liaise with building management and landlords; Manage security and cleaning staff and their contracts; and Supervise the administration of the official vehicles. Provide prompt and courteous service to Embassy clients including section managers and staff.
