JOB SUMMARY









Acts as primary nurse of the assigned patients, rendering total nursing care, carry out
orders timely and accurately.
Admit patient in the unit, and do systematic assessment, prepare patient for procedures,
monitor vital signs, prepare nursing care plan, and educate the patient and family.
Prepare the patient physically and psychologically for any medical or surgical diagnostic
procedures.
Assist physician in doing procedures such as: assessment and other medical procedures.
Hemodynamic monitoring of critically ill patients and making assessment and immediate
recording and reporting any significant clinical changes or events to the charge nurse and
attending physician. Make sure that laboratory results and any diagnostic reports are
available in the file prior rounds and update general comments of any pending procedures
and results.
Administration of medications prescribed to the patients considering the rights of
medication administration.
Education of patient and family about patient and family rights, patient care, medication
administration and management, rehabilitation (home care). Make sure patients have their
take home medications, supplies and clinic appointments upon discharge and medical
reports or referrals.
Maintain high quality standard of patient care, promote professional development in
terms of ongoing education, training and in-services, and institutional policy procedures.
Endorse the patient to the incoming primary nurse systematically, completely and
accurately.
