 PHC involved in a lot of local horse shows that you can get involved in.
 For people who want to ride at PHC but do not have a car Sam will be sending
out an e-mail and trying to organize a list of people who are willing to
carpool so that we can try to find someone to give you a ride there.
III. Therapeutic Riding
 Patapsco Horse Center does therapeutic riding lessons on Tuesdays and
Thursdays from 3:30-8pm. Anybody interested in volunteering is encouraged
to. You don’t need to let Sherri know ahead of time, just show up during that
time frame and she will give you something to do. Your help is greatly
appreciated!
IV. Possible Club Activities
 Laurel Park Races
o Sept. 11 – Opening Day
o Sept. 18 – Racing 101
o Oct. 2 – Maryland Million Day
o Oct. 16 – Diva Day
 Clinics
o We talked about possible informative clinics we wanted to do.
Some ideas were: veterinary information, wound care, farrier
information, grooming and braiding.
o A braiding clinic and a bandaging clinic are already in the works.
Look for updated information about them in future e-mails and
meetings!
 Columbia Classic Grand Prix on September 25th.
 Barn Night at the Washington International Horse Show (Oct. 28th).
o An Equestrian Club tradition! Barn Night is usually the night when
they do the jumping competitions and the Gambler’s Choice. Look
for more information about carpooling etc. in future e-mails and
meetings.
 Polo Clinic at Garrison Forest
o This will take place Sept. 19th from 9am-noon. It is currently filled
up, but anyone who wants to come and watch is more than
welcome. Contact us about rides.
V. Club Jackets
 E-mail Sam if you’re interested in purchasing a club jacket.
VI. IHSA Show on Oct. 30th, hosted by the UMBC Equestrian Team
 Our Equestrian Team is hosting a show at Goucher College on Oct. 30th.
We will be bringing our own horses and borrowing some of Goucher’s
horses. We need people to come to help with the gate, hand out ribbons,
and hold horses during the show. We also need people to come in to help
get our horses ready the night before and the day of the show. The is the
club/team’s biggest fundraiser, so we really encourage everybody who is
able to come and help out to do so. Your help will be greatly appreciated!
 We are also planning on having a Bake Sale during that show. Anybody
who can bring something should let us know before the show. This is a
good way to help out if you can’t make it to the show itself!
