Server & Application Migration Engineer x 4 Overview Server Migration Engineer - Migration to MS Server 2012 – Sutton / Kingston, South West London Windows SysAdmin/Infrastructure Engineer/Consultant Large scale migration to Windows Server 2012, including deployment of a range of 3rd party and inhouse developed applications, based on IIS and SQL technologies. We are looking for a number of Server Migration Engineers - Migration to MS Server 2012 to join the Infrastructure Programme team. The team works closely with 3rd party software providers, as well as in-house developers and testers, network and security teams to Migrate all our applications and servers from Legacy Windows 2003 and 2008 environments to a new domain built completely around Windows 2012R2 and Hyper-V. This role is Based in either Sutton or Kingston in Southwest London and requires travel between these locations on a routine basis. You'll need a range of skills and experience across Microsoft operating system technologies as well as development technologies. Responsibilities: ● ● ● Provide SysAdmin/Windows Server Project support in a predominantly Microsoft environment Deliver Server Platforms and deploy applications to them Liaise with 3rd party and internal application providers Skills/knowledge required: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● MIGRATION to Windows Server 2012 experience essential Experienced Infrastructure Engineer or Windows Server Engineer, Systems Administrator Knowledge of VMWare, Hyper-V, networks, storage (especially Netapp) and load balancing preferred Sound understanding of server and storage tiered architectures Sound understanding of virtualisation architectures and technologies Excellent troubleshooting and fault resolution skills Ability to assess user requests and implement in accordance with a change management process Ability to manage own workload and seek assistance from within the team and wider company to drive work to completion. Candidates must have strong verbal/written communication skills, able to work as part of a team and independently when required. Candidates will be expected to work flexibly across locations as required. Out of hours working will be a frequent requirement in the role.
