Dear Parents and Guardians,
Junior School After-School Chess Squad
I am writing to invite your son/daughter to continue attending the club when it begins again
next term on Thursday, 7th January. I hope that your child has found this activity to be
profoundly useful in enhancing their skills and that they have enjoyed the experience thus far.
The club will be held in my classroom, 3W, in the Junior School and will be run by Mr Dave
Gaston from Lancashire Chess. The club will run from 3:45pm to 4:45pm every Thursday for
9 weeks, with the final session being on Thursday, 10th March.
There will be a charge of £10 per child for these 9 sessions. This will be available for you to
view and pay via your Scopay account in due course. In cases of hardship it may, under certain
strict conditions, be possible for the school to subsidise this cost but this will mean that
personal financial information would be required. If you wish to discuss this, please contact
me as a matter of urgency.

please contact me at school. If you wish your son/daughter to attend the squad, please return
the attached consent form to me via your son/daughter by Thursday, 17th December.
