James B. Watson, MD, gastroenterologist, joins Southcoast Physicians Group
FALL RIVER, Mass. — Southcoast® Health today announced that James B. Watson, MD,
gastroenterologist, has joined Southcoast Physicians Group, and will see patients 1030 President Ave. in
Fall River.
Prior to joining Southcoast Health, Dr. Watson completed his fellowship in advanced endoscopy
at Duke University in Durham, N.C, with a focus on endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Watson was a Duke
University faculty member as Medical Instructor. His fields of interest include therapeutic endoscopy,
diagnosis and staging of hepato-biliary and gastric malignancy, inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett's
esophagus, and colon cancer screening.
After earning his medical degree and a master’s degree in public health at Mount Sinai School of
Medicine in New York, N.Y., Dr. Watson completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mount
Sinai Hospital, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital
in Providence.
Dr. Watson is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. His publications include
the Journal of Gastrointestinal Cancer and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. To make an
