SLO Data Summary
Description
Measures school readiness for 3-4 year olds in seven domains based on fall and spring
exemplars. Performance rated as fully ready, approaching readiness or developing
readiness related to broad age expectant skill.
HCPSS tool developed by speech-language pathologists to rate students for the presence
of various communicative intents using one or more communicative modalities.
Formal assessment measure of developmental delays in children (from b-36 months in
HCPSS). Five subtests.
Formal assessment measure of developmental delays in children ages 3-5 years in HCPSS.
Five subtests.
Measures stages of play from a developmental age of nine to sixty months. Play and/or
language targets, as described in the scale, may be used.
HELP 0-3 and HELP 03-6 measure 580 skills in the areas of Cognitive, Language, Gross
Motor, Fine Motor, Social, Self-Help.
Measures preverbal and verbal aspects of communication and interaction in the young
child.
Assesses pivotal preverbal communication skills children need to develop functional
communication. Sensitive to small, subtle changes in joint attention, social interaction,
and communicative intent.
Measures communication and related skills (requesting, motor imitation, vocal play, vocal
imitation, match to sample, receptive, labeling).

7-point rating scale is used to determine the extent to which a child's functioning is
appropriate given his or her age and whether that child made progress toward age
appropriate behavior.
The GAS measures level of goal attainment achieved for each goal at the end of the
designated time period as determined by the therapist for each student.
