Purpose & Function
 Clear purpose and goals of institutional assessment along with the difference between course
and program SLO and assessments have been articulated, shared and embraced college-wide.
 Guiding principles, philosophy and/or values regarding assessment practices have been
discussed, articulated and embraced by the college.
 Strategies for increasing motivation and persistence and for making continuous progress are
being discussed and implemented.
 Strategies for sustaining institutional assessment process are being discussed and implemented.

Integration Process
 The IAP is integrated with planning and budgeting processes (e.g., via clear links in the process,
alignment of cycles, embedded into Program Review, outcomes used for action planning).
 Decision-making and planning activities related to; curriculum, pedagogy, technology,
scheduling, student support services interventions and college processes, have incorporated the
use of institutional assessment data.
 The decision-making processes and planning activities rely on the input and participation of the
appropriate constituency group.
