Samantha Hall CARDIOVASULAR NURSE Correct Name of Career o Cardiac Nurse Education and/or Training Required o Important skills include EKG skills, assessment skills, desire to learn, communications, and interpreting results. o General high school classes should include chemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, English, statistics, and public speaking. o To become a licensed Cardiac Nurse you must complete a certification examination. Before eligible to take the test you must have your RN licenses, practiced 2 years full time as a nurse, minimum of 2,000 hours of clinical practice within last 3 years, and completed 30 hours of continuing education in cardiac nursing within last 3 years. Depending on the state that the participant is in could change the requirements for their RN license. The states board of nursing has their requirements for their state. o After passing the exam you are awarded the RN-BC that is valid for 5 years. You may keep your credential by continuing your practice and renewing your license when it is time too. Responsibilities and Daily Activities o Daily activities vary due to the place of employment and the diagnosis of the patient. o With being a nurse there is multiple things that you can do throughout the day. There is a possibility to educate and describe procedures to patients, record results of treatment, and/or depending on experience take the lead in the diagnosis and treatments. Their daily activities depends on how their patients are following their plan for treatment or diagnosis. o Most are employed by hospitals and local medical practices. Salary Range o The salary range for KY is $60,202 to $67,248. o The average salary for Kentucky is $55,000. o The salaries vary do to who they are employed by and the demand for their practice in the area.
