13 Jan - 2pm conference call
Low waits in A+E, 2 breaches since midnight. 3 drs down until 8pm - no luck with agency. Consultant managing
it.
Star team stretched between CDU + AMU but prioritising.
Beds in all areas. Plan is to reopen Champneys 4 bedder if needed, + outlie in surgery + cardiac. Rob will
contact us if A+E becomes a problem
7pm text from Julia - all ok despite lack of drs, 11 AMU beds, less than 6 breaches
9.30pm - Julia phoned. Lack of Star means several medically fit pts unable to be discharged. Some placed in
Champneys 4 bedder. Julia asked whether another 4 "medically fit" medical pts should outlie in surgery or on
James Hope. If they outlie in surgery they are likely to fill all surgical beds. Agreed open 4 beds on JH as the pts
will go tomorrow.
10pm. Text - 4 breaches. A&E ok, waits less than an hour but the last hour has had 22 attendances which is
quite high though apparently these are mainly assualts so may not result in admission. There are 12 medical
and 9 surgery beds and plenty of paeds and ICU (with Champneys and James Hope open). Cardiac and neuro
are full.
14 Jan
10am bed mtg - medicine minus 39, surgery minus 28.
