Peer Support Checklist
Directions: Peer and peer support students will work through the checklist together and in
order. Complete every task before moving on to the next one.
Prepare:
☐ Sit down in assigned area.
☐ Get binder, planner, and other
materials ready to go.

Organize Binder (using GOLD binder checklist):
☐ Homework is in homework divider/folder (take yesterday’s CLASS TASK sheet out of folder).
☐ All subjects are in corresponding folders (ex. language arts work in
language arts divider/folder).
☐ Recycle all papers that are no longer needed.
Planner Check (Using Planner):
☐ Check that every class is completed filled out (both student planners should have the exact same
words in each subject’s box).
☐ If any class is empty, fill out planner.
☐ Record the number of stamps for that day at the bottom of the planner on that day.
☐ Discuss why are stamps (if any) missing?
Review Class Tasks (using homework AND Homework Plan sheet):
Math Question Prompts:
What do I need to do? Define task. Be specific.
What do I need to know? Check for understanding. Complete practice problems (3 random problems
from assignment that cover various kinds of problems.
What are my points of confusion? Identify trouble areas for the homework/task that needs to be
completed. Which types of problems do I still need help completing?
What questions do I still have? Write down any questions that exist that remain.
Language Arts Question Prompts:
What do I need to do? Define task. Be specific.
What do I need to know? Check for understanding. What kind of thinking do I need to show?
Identify academic vocabulary that is needed for task/homework. Where am I in the thinking process? At
the completion of the task, where do I need to be in the thinking process?
What are my points of confusion? Identify trouble areas for the homework/task that needs to be
completed.
What questions do I still have? Write down any questions that exist that remain.
Science Question Prompts:
What do I do in class today? What do I still need to do? Define task. Be specific.
What do I need to know? Check for understanding. Use science lab book and learning targets to
discuss, review, and write down major concepts being learned in class.
What are my points of confusion? Identify trouble areas for the homework/task that needs to be
completed. What part of the lab, if any, am I having trouble completing? What science concepts or
learning targets am I finding confusing? Be specific.
What questions do I still have? Write down any questions that exist that remain from today’s lab work,
learning targets, or upcoming assessments.
Social Studies Question Prompts:
What did I do in class today? What do I need to do at home? Define task. Be specific.
What do I need to know? Check for understanding. What content knowledge to I need to have?
What kind of thinking do I need to show? Identify academic vocabulary that is needed for task/homework.
Where am I in the thinking process? At the completion of the task, where do I need to be in the thinking
process?
What are my points of confusion? Identify trouble areas for the homework/task that needs to be
completed. What content am I having trouble understanding?
What questions do I still have? Write down any questions that exist from today’s lesson or for
upcoming assessments.
Place Class Tasks sheets and any paperwork needed into homework folder/divider!
Homework/Tasks:
☐ Begin working on homework that has the most points of confusion and/or questions. This is the
subject of the most concern! Then, move on to the next subject once questions are resolved. Students
can finish the remainder for homework.
